Their body could not register these calories if drinking any type of beverages at all.


2. Some people tend to add extra sugar or drinks to their diet without realising that these products contain lots of calories. For example, sugar is present in almost everything that goes into a sandwich, bagel, cereal, juice, soft drink or dessert. Eating sugary foods can make you feel hungry. If you consume sugary foods every day, then your body automatically thinks it needs to eat more to replace it. So, you will eat more since you have to eat more to satiate your hunger. That means you may only want to drink about 50 percent to 65 percent of your total daily calorie intake which would make your intake of water fall by 15 percent.


3. Excessive snacking and eating chips as snacks throughout the day can lead to weight gain. Snacks contain lots of calories and are usually high in sodium. This would increase your thirst and the blood flow to your liver, kidneys and brain slowing down. Since this means your body would use more energy to process its urine as well because of these factors the amount of water one consumes would become lower. These problems could contribute to tooth decay and kidney disease.


4. The human body uses water in the form of perspiration that lubricates the joints, lungs, digestive system, muscles, heart, skin, hair and nails. Your body cannot survive and function without staying well hydrated by staying properly hydrated for prolonged periods of time. When the temperature rises, sweat falls on your clothes so that the air inside the clothing becomes dry and moist again. The humidity then carries cold air back into the lungs. If the humidity builds up in the lungs this would cause them to become inflamed causing wheezing, coughing and difficulty breathing. Without adequate moisture, your body will start losing energy and get fatigued. With so many different reasons why you might not be getting enough water you would find it very hard to figure out where the problem lies. What seems like one thing could actually be another.
